ClashCeping is a static content site that introduces and compares Clash-family clients. The site is built on a "collect as little as possible" principle. The statements below reflect the actual technical implementation, with no claims beyond reality and no omission of any data handling that actually occurs.
1. Scope of Data Collection
This is a purely static site with no registration, login, comment, or subscription features, which means:
- We do not request or receive your name, email address, phone number, or any account information;
- No form on this site submits your input to a server;
- We do not collect configuration, subscription URLs, or proxy node information from your client software — that data lives entirely on your own device and never interacts with this site.
When you visit a page, the server briefly logs basic connection details in access logs — as any website does — such as the requested path, timestamp, and browser identifier. This is used only to keep the service stable and troubleshoot issues, not to identify any specific individual.
2. Analytics
This site uses a self-hosted analytics tool to understand page views, approximate visitor geography, and device types, helping us decide which reviews and tutorials deserve more attention and maintenance. Regarding this analytics:
- Data is processed by software we host ourselves and is never sold or shared with any third-party advertising or data platform;
- Metrics are aggregated (page views, clicked platform tabs, etc.) and no profile is built for any individual visitor;
- Interactions such as switching platform tabs on the download page may be logged as anonymous events, used only to gauge interest in each platform's client.
If your browser has a content-blocking extension that blocks the analytics script, every page and download link on this site will still work normally with no restrictions.
3. Cookies and Local Storage
This site's own pages do not proactively write cookies for tracking identity. Situations that may involve browser local storage include:
- The analytics tool may use a small cookie or local storage entry to distinguish repeat visits from the same visitor; this data contains nothing that directly identifies you personally;
- Tab state on some pages is recorded via URL anchors, not written to local storage.
You can clear this site's cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time; doing so will not affect any functionality on this site.
4. Download Links and Third-Party Content
Installer links on our download page point to the official release channels, app store pages, or distribution nodes of each client project. Once you click through to a third-party site (such as the App Store or a client's official website), your visit is governed by that third party's own privacy policy, and this policy no longer applies. When downloading from a third-party site, confirm the page address matches the official channel, and pay attention to your operating system's security prompts after the download completes. We are not responsible for how third-party sites handle data.
5. Children's Information
This site's content targets users with some technical networking background and is not designed for minors; we do not intentionally collect any information from minors. Since the site does not collect personal identity information in general, minors browsing the site do not generate any additional personal data retention.
6. Policy Updates
This policy may be updated as site features change or legal requirements evolve. Updated versions will be published directly on this page, with the "Last updated" date at the top revised accordingly; no separate notice will be sent. Continued use of this site constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. If you have questions about this policy's wording, or notice that page behavior doesn't match what's described here, check the related notes in our FAQ and usage guide.
